Aloo chokha

Aloo chokha is a delicious dish that completes your main course.


    Potato (cut into 1-inch pieces) :- ½ lbs
    Garlic cloves (minced) :- 4
    Onion (cut lengthwise) :- ½ cup
    Amchur (dried mango powder) :- 1 tsp
    Cumin-coriander powder :- 1 tsp
    Green chili :- 4
    Cilantro :- 3 tbsp
    Water whole coriander seeds :- ¾ cup
    Dried red chili :- 1
    Oil :- As required
    Salt :- To taste

preparation method

In a pan, heat the oil and add the coriander seeds and dried red chili.

Mix the onions in it and fry until red.

Combine the garlic and green chili.

Add potato and then fry this mixture for about four minutes.

Add cumin-coriander powder, ¾ cup of water and salt. Stir well, cover and allow it to simmer. Cook till they turn tender.

Mix the dried mango powder and mix well with the potatoes.

Transfer the chokha into a vessel.

Garnish with cilantro leaves and serve hot.

Serving Suggestions

    Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot with roti.
