Apricot Stew with Vanilla Custard



    (For apricot stew)

    Apricot, soaked and chopped- 7-8

    Jaggery- 2 tsp

    Cinnamon- 1 stick

    Cloves- 2

    Lemon juice- ½ tsp

    (For vanilla custard)

    Custard powder2 tbsp

    Low fat milk- 1 glass

    Jaggery- 2 tsp



    (Khumani stew ke liye)

    Khumani, bheegi hue or chopped- 7-8

    Gur- 2 tsp

    Dalchini- 1 stick

    Laung- 2

    Nimbu ka rus- ½ tsp

     (Vanilla custard ke liye)

    Custard powder- 3 tbsp

    Low fat doodh- 1 glass

    Gur- 2 tsp

preparation method

(To make an apricot stew)

  • Soak apricots in hot water for 3-4 hours
  • Put cinnamon and cloves in 1 ½ cup boiling water
  • Also  put apricot along with jaggery in the water
  • Boil until water is almost dry
  • Apricot stew is ready

(To make vanilla custard)

  • Dissolve custard powder in a little cold water
  • Put milk to boil in a pan
  • Once milk star boiling, add dissolved custard powder, stirring continuously to avoid lumps
  • When milk begins to thicken, add jaggery and stir to dissolve
  • Transfer apricot pieces to a serving bowl, and pour custard over it
  • Serve warm or chilled
