Balushahi is a traditional Indian sweet recipe made with maida and garnished with pistachios.


    Refined flour (maida) :- 250gm.
    Oil for deep frying :- 2/3 cup
    Baking powder :- ΒΌ tsp.

    Sugar :- 250 gm.
    Butter/dalda :- 50 gm.
    Curd :- 100 gm.
    Cooking soda:- Pinch

preparation method

Combine baking powder, cooking soda and maida in a vessel. Mix well.

Now add dalda or butter and curd and combine it well. Keep aside for at least 10 minutes.

Take a little dough and prepare a round shape. Make a dent in the center.

In another frying pan, add water along with sugar and let it boil till it gets one-string consistency.

In a non-stick pan, heat oil to deep fry the balushahis. Once oil becomes hot, fry the prepared balls until they turn golden in shade.

Take out the balushahis and keep in sugar syrup for about 2 minutes and then remove.

Balushahis are ready to serve.

Serving Suggestions

    Garnish with pistachios and serve when the sugar has solidified.
