Besan Ka Halwa
Besanka Halwa is devoured by all sweet lovers.
Besan, 1 cup
Ghee, 1 cup
Sugar, 1 cup
chopped cashews (save some for decoration), 2 tbsp
water, 1 cup
On medium flame, heat a wide pan. Roast the besan without adding nay liquid for about three minutes. Ensure the color of besan has turned dark brown and the fragrance starts coming. Now make a trench in the besan and pour ghee. Continue cooking the besan for at least seven minutes. As soon as the besan turns dark brown, mix sugar and the chopped cashews. Now cook for one minute. Increase the flame. Besan starts to boil. Stir forcefully to ensure no lumps are formed. Once the besan has boiled, reduce flame and continue to stir. Once the water has evaporated, the besan will obtain a consistency and will become flexible and smooth paste. You can garnish with the leftover cashews.
Serve with tea or as snacks at evening
