Bihari Litti is generally eaten with yogurt and you can enjoy this regional recipe for breakfast.
Ingredients for Dough
Whole wheat flour+little maida :- 1-1/2 cup
Fat-free or regular yogurt :- 1 cup
Ingredients for filling
Sattu (special gram flour) :- 1 cup
Cloves :- 4
Garlic cloves :- 1
Ginger :- 1 inch
Green chilies (chopped) :- ½ cup
Finely chopped Cilantro leaves :- ½ cup
Onion seed :- ½ tsp.
Ajwain (thyme) :- 1 tsp.
Mustard :- 2 tbsp.
Mangrella :- ½ tsp.
Lemon (juice) :- 1
Red chili pickle masala :- 1-1/2 tbsp.
Salt :- To taste
Preparation Method for dough –
Mix flour with yogurt to prepare dough without using water.
Cover and set aside.
Preparation Method for filling–
Combine all the filling ingredients together.
Mix ¼ cup of water in it to prepare moist stuffing.
Make around 8 balls from this mixture.
Roll out the dough into 8 rounds of patty.
In every patty, fill 3 tsp. of sattu filling and close it.
Now pre-heat the microwave to 375° F and then put all the prepared litties on a foil. Bake till one side is done.
Turn over the litties and bake till the other side is brown.
Once both sides are done, take out the litties and remove the foil. Dip in pure ghee/butter.
Serve hot with chutney or sauce.
