Cheese Parcels

Cheese parcels are an all-time favorite recipe of most kids.


    Sunflower oil :-2 tbsp.
    Fresh spinach leaves :-125 g
    Large garlic clove (chopped):-1
    Onion (chopped):-1
    Soft cheese :-250 g
    Filo pastry :-275 g
    Butter (melted):-50 g
    Sesame seeds for sprinkling :-

preparation method

Preheat the microwave to 220°C.
Plunge the spinach into boiling water, allow it to boil. Boil for few seconds, then drain and run under cold water. Squeeze out all the excess fluid once cooled and finely chop. Set aside.
In a pan, heat oil and put the garlic and onion. Cook for about 5 minutes till it becomes tender and then let it cool.
In a vessel, combine the onion mixture,cheese and spinach together.
Chop the filo pastry into 3 inch squares and brush each square with melted butter. Then cover with a second square and again brush with melted butter. Keep aside and cover with moist fabric.
Repeat the same procedure with leftover squares.
Put a spoonful of the stuffing in the middle of each square and seal the ends to shape a square shaped parcel.
Brush the pastry with extra butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Chill for about 20 minutes.
Bake these parcels till they become crisp and brown.

Serving Suggestions

    Serve hot with chili-garlic sauce. Serve with a main meal or a salad.
