Chinese Stir-fried Mixed Vegetables
Broccoli / cauliflower (Hari phoolgobhi) – 1, cut in florets
Cabbage (Pattagobhi) – 1, finely chopped
Carrots (Gajar) – 2, finely sliced
Garlic (Lehsun) - 3 tsp, finely chopped
Ginger (Adrak) – 2 inch piece, finely sliced
Onion (Pyaaz) – 1, sliced
Spring onions (Hari Pyaaz) – 2 finely chopped
For the sauce
Chilli sauce – 1 tsp
Green chilies (Hari Mirch) – 2, finely chopped
Sugar (Cheeni) – 1 ½ tsp
Sesame (Til) oil – 2 tsp
Salt – ½ tsp or to taste
Soya sauce – 2tsp
Step 1 – Heat til oil in a wok / deep fry pan. Add garlic, ginger, onion and stir well. Keep stirring while frying. Add green chilies and continue stir.
Step 2 – Add broccoli/ cauliflower, cabbage, carrot and stir them while frying.
Step 3 – Put sugar, soya sauce, chili sauce and salt. Sugar keeps the green vegetables from turning brown while frying. Mix well and cook for 8-10 minutes.
