Chocolate and Banana Flan


    Bananas(kele) – 3, sliced (round)

    Eggs(Ande) – 2

    Fresh cream (taaza malai) – ¾ cup

    Melted butter (pigla hua makhan) – 1 tsp

    Milk (doodh) – ½ cup

    Cooking Chocolate/ chocolate bar – 1 cup, finely chopped


preparation method

Step 1 – Pour cream and milk in a pan and heat on low flame. Do not boil.

Step 2 – Pour this mixture on top of chocolate, in a bowl. Whisk the mixture well, till the chocolate gets mixed with the milk and cream. Add melted butter, whisk and keep this flan mixture aside for 2-3 minutes to cool.

Step 3 – In a buttered baking dish, arrange banana slices to cover the dish completely including the sides of dish. (You can use other fruits if you wish).

Step 4 – Once the flan has cooled considerably, only then add egg (or else egg will get cooked if the mixture is hot) and whisk well.

Step 5 – Pour flan over the banana layer in baking dish. Remove bubbles, if any, from the flan as these will get firm while baking. Bake at 200 degrees for 15- 20 minutes.

Serves 3 - 4
