Eggnog

A light healthy drink.

ingredients

    Whole milk: 4 cups

    Low fat milk: 1 can

    Sugar: 1/2 cup

    Cinnamon: ¼ teaspoon

    Nutmeg, ground: 1/8 teaspoon

    Large egg: 6

    Brandy: ¼ cup

    Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon

preparation method

Place the whole milk and the low fat milk in a saucepan over a medium flame and allow it to simmer for a while.

Add the egg, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar in a bowl. Slowly add the warm milk into the bowl and whisk it till it becomes smooth in its texture. Add the mixture back into the pan on a medium flame and allow it to simmer for approximately 8 minutes till it thickens. Pour the mixture back into the bowl and add the brandy and vanilla extract and stir it well.

Cover the bowl with a plastic sheet and keep it chilled for 8 hours before serving.

 

Serving Suggestions

    Serve chilled with ice cubes.
