Karela Sabzi is a delectable yet simple recipe which needs very less effort and few ingredients.
Karela (chopped into small round and remove seeds):- 2
Onion chopped:- 1
Oil:- 2 tbsp.
Garam Masala:- ½ tsp.
Red Chili powder:- 1 tsp.
Tamarind Pulp:- 4 tbsp.
Ginger Garlic paste:- 1 tsp.
Turmeric powder:- ¼ tsp.
Jaggery:- 2 tbsp.
Deep bottomed pan
In hot boiling water, put karela and cook covered until karela becomes soft.
In a deep bottomed pan, heat oil and put onion. Cook until transparent.
Mix the ginger-garlic paste to it and cook for another few minutes.
Combine the garam masala, red chili powder and turmeric powder to it. Keep cooking for two more minutes.
Put the jaggery and tamarind pulp. Mix well.
Add cooked karela and stir well. Continue cooking for five minutes and then switch off the heat.
Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.
Serve hot with roti or chapatti or steamed rice.
