Malai Peda

Malai Peda is a famous Indian dessert made from condensed milk and has an attractive golden texture.


    Milk :- 1-½ cups
    Sweetened condensed milk :- 1 tin
    Corn flour :- 1 tsp
    Citric acid :- ¼ tsp
    Cardamom powder :- 5
    Ghee/butter :- 1 tbsp.
    Yellow colour :- few drops

preparation method

In a pan, heat the ghee and put milk, citric acid and condensed milk in a little water. Dissolve completely and allow this mixture to curdle.

Dissolve corn flour in two tbsp. of water and make a smooth paste.

Add the prepared paste to the milk mixture once it curdles.

Cook over medium flame until the mixture leaves the edges of the pan.

Combine yellow color to it and stir well.

Transfer the mixture onto a plate and prepare pedas.

Sprinkle some cardamom powder over it and serve.

Serving Suggestions

    Garnish with dried fruits and serve.

    hi, i like anything made of malai, so this is defi. one of my favourites. but can we use soft paneer instead of going thru the curdling process. wud save time n energy! pls let me know ur view.

    This recipe takes forever to reduce to a sticky dry dough (more than 30 mins). I used 1 cup full cream milk powder at the end and it turned out good!
