Steamed Semolina Cake


    2 eggs
    200 gms butter
    1 cup semolina
    ½ cup refined flour
    1 cup milk
    1 tsp vanilla essence
    ½ tsp baking powder
    4 tbsp lime juice
    1 cup sugar
    1 lemon rind
    1 cup lemon wedges

preparation method

Beat the mixture of eggs, butter and sugar in a bowl till it’s light and fluffy.
Add some semolina, flour and baking powder in this mixture and keep mixing it well.
Then add vanilla essence and milk and fold this mixture.
Heat a steamer with water in it.
Put the cake batter in a mould.
Once the water is heated properly, put the mould in the steamer for 15-20 mins.
For sauce, put some water, sugar and lemon rind in a pan.
Once the mixture starts boiling, add lemon juice on top of it.
Remove the mould from the steamer and pour lemon sauce on top of the cake.
For dressing, boil some sugar in a pan and then add some lemon wedges.
Caramelize the lemon wedges now.
Dress the cake with these caramelised lemon wedges.
Steamed semolina cake is ready to serve.
