Tomato-Basil Pizza

Tomato-basil pizza is anal-time favorite recipe for all ages!


    Whole-wheat (whole-meal) flour :- 1 cup

    All-purpose (plain) flour :- 1 cup

    Salt :- ½ tsp.

    Sugar :- ½ tsp.

    Yeast :- 1 tsp.

    Olive oil :- 1 tsp.

    Warm water :- ¾ cup

    Canned unsalted crushed tomatoes (drained) :- 2 cups

    Dried basil :- 2/3 tsp.

    Ground black pepper :- 2/3 tsp.

    Garlic powder :- ½ tsp.

    Reduced-fat mozzarella cheese :- 1 cup

preparation method

Preheat the microwave to 375 F.

Coat a 10-inch round pizza pan lightly with cooking tray.

In a bowl, mix the salt, flours, yeast and sugar.

Pour warm water followed by oil to it. Prepare soft dough.

Transfer the dough out onto a floured work surface.

Knead this dough with generously floured hands for about one minute.

In case dough becomes too sticky, then put flour but 1 tsp. at a time.

Gather into a loose ball.

Now, cover this dough and keep aside for ten minutes.

In another bowl, mix the basil, tomatoes, garlic powder and black pepper together.

Roll pizza dough out and then press into the prepared baking pan.

Now, spread the mixture of tomato allover the pizza dough and spread cheese over it.

Bake for around 15-20 minute still the dough starts turning brown.

Make eight slices of the pizza and immediately serve.

Serve hot.

    Serve hot with sauce or ketchup.
