(FOR Uttapam Batter)


    Split Black Gram-1 cup

    Par boiled Rice-3 cups

    Salt-to taste

    For Topping:-

    Carrot, finely chopped-1/2 medium

    Onion, finely chopped-1/2 medium

    Tomato, deseeded, chopped-1/2 medium

    Coriander leaves, chopped-2tsp

    Green chili, finely chopped-1

    Oil-1 tsp


     Uthapam ka Batter Banane ke Liye:-

    Urad Dal-1 cup

    Ubla hua chaawal-3 cups

    Namak-Swaad Anusaar

    Topping ke Liye:-

    Gaajar,katti hui-1/2 medium

    Pyaaj,katta hua-1/2 medium

    Tamaatar,beej nikala hua aur katta hua-1/2 medium

    Dhaniye ka patta,katta hua-2 tsp

    Hari Mirch,baareek katta hua-1

    Tel-1 tsp

preparation method

 (For Uttapam Batter)

  • Soak pulses and parboiled rice overnight
  • Grind and add salt
  • Leave the batter to ferment for 15-16 hours


(To Prepare Uttapam)

  • Heat non-stick pan. Add oil and spread evenly with a tissue paper
  • Take a ladleful of batter and spread in all directions
  • When one side is cooked, add onion, tomato, carrot, coriander and green chilies as toppings
  • Flip the Uthapam and cook the other sides till the vegetables are done
  • Serve hot with tomato chutney and sambhar
