  • Beetroots, peeled and grated 1½ cups
  • Milk 1½ cups
  • Jaggery, grated 2½ tbsps
  • Cashewnuts, crushed 3 tsps


  • Boil beetroot in equal quantity water in a deep non-stick pan till almost dry.
  • Add milk, jaggery and cashewnuts and mix well.
  • Continue to cook, stirring, till the mixture thickens into a halwa consistency.
  • Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot or at room temperature.
