Breakfast Tea Loaf

You will be surprised how tasty this cake is – with black tea decoction


  • Black tea bags 4 to 5
  • Raisins ½ cup
  • Black currants ½ cup
  • Walnuts, chopped ½ cup
  • Bran 2 cups
  • Brown sugar ¾ cup
  • Refined flour ¾ cup
  • Baking powder 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon powder ¼ tsp


  • Boil 1½ cups of water in a non-stick pan and add the tea bags. Let it brew for a while before discarding the tea bags
  • Take raisins, black currants, walnuts, bran, brown sugar and the black tea decoction in a mixing bowl and mix well.
  • Add refined flour, baking powder and cinnamon powder and mix well. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 180º C. Grease a loaf tin.
  • Transfer the batter into the greased loaf tin, keep it in the preheated tin and bake for 40 minutes,
  • Take the loaf tin out of the oven, allow to cool down to room temperature, slice, arrange on a serving platter and serve.
