This delicious starter is well liked by children and adults alike


  • Sweet corn kernels, boiled and crushed 1 cup
  • Grated processed cheese 2 tbsps
  • Refined flour (maida) 1 to 2 tbsps
  • Garlic, chopped ½ tsp
  • Green chillies, chopped 1 tsp
  • Breadcrumbs 1 tbsp
  • Black pepper powder 1 tsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Refined flour mixed with ¾ cup water ½ cup
  • Cornflakes, crushed 1 cup
  • Oil to deep fry


  • Put corn kernels, refined flour, garlic, green chillies, breadcrumbs, cheese, black pepper powder, coriander leaves and salt in a bowl and mix well.
  • Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into balls.
  • Spread the cornflakes in a plate.
  • Dip the cheese balls in refined flour batter, roll in crushed cornflakes so that it coats the balls completely and keep them on another plate.
  • Heat sufficient oil in a deep pan, slide in the corn balls and deep-fry till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
  • Arrange them on a serving platter and serve hot with a sauce of your choice.
