The colour of this sheera may be a bit unbecoming, but it is full of nutrients and is delicious too


  • Finger millet (ragi) flour 2 tbsps
  • Whole wheat flour 2 tbsps
  • Soya flour 2 tbsps
  • Jaggery, grated 2 tbsps
  • Almonds, chopped 8 to 10
  • Green cardamom powder ½ tsp


  • Dry roast finger millet flour, wheat flour and soya flour in a non-stick pan, stirring continuously, till fragrant.
  • Cook jaggery with 1 cup water in another non-stick pan till jaggery is completely dissolved.
  • Add this to the roasted flours and cook till all the moisture is absorbed.
  • Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
