Ingredients

  • Ready idli batter 500 gms
  • Salt to taste
  • Carrot, grated 1 cup
  • Green capsicum, finely chopped 1 cup
  • Ginger-garlic paste ½ tsp
  • Green chillies, finely chopped ½ tsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped 1 tbsp

How to Make Idli Sandwich (Stepwise Photos)

Method

  1. Take idli batter in a large bowl, add salt and mix well.
  2. Take carrot, green capsicum, ginger-garlic paste, green chillies, coriander leaves and salt in a bowl and mix well.
  3. Heat sufficient water in a steamer. Lightly grease the idli moulds. Pour some batter into each mould taking care not to fill them upto the top.
  4. Sprinkle some of the vegetable mixture and fill them up with more idli batter.
  5. Keep the moulds in the steamer, put the lid on and steam for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Take them out and cool slightly before demoulding them.
  7. Arrange them on serving plates and serve hot with a spicy dip or chutney of your choice.
