A powerhouse of nutrients – you can enjoy this even if you are a weight watcher


  • Dates (khajur), seeded 200 gms
  • Beetroots (chukandar), grated 350 gms
  • Ghee 3½ tbsps
  • Skimmed milk 500 mls
  • Jaggery, grated 100 gms
  • Green cardamom powder ½ tsp
  • Amonds, chopped ½ cup
  • Pistachios, crushed 1 tbsp
  • Silver varq 1 sheet


  • Heat 1½ tbsps ghee in a deep non-stick pan, add beetroots and dates and mix well.
  • Add milk, mix well and cook on high heat till milk is absorbed totally.
  • Add jaggery, mix well and saute till ghee leaves the sides of the pan.
  • Add cardamom powder and 2 tbsps ghee, mix well cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add almonds and mix well.
  • Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot or cold garnished with pistachio nuts and silver varq.
