Stuffed Jalapenos with Peanuts

Jalapenos seeded, stuffed with peanut mixture, dipped in gram flour batter and deep-fried


  • Jalapenos (or Bhavnagri mirchi) 5 to 6
  • Peanuts, ground 1 cup
  • Processed cheese, grated 1 cup
  • Lemon juice 1 tsp
  • Gram flour (besan) 1½ cups
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to deep-fry


  • Slit the jalapenos from the middle and remove the seeds.
  • To make stuffing, take peanuts, cheese and lemon juice in a bowl and mix well.
  • Stuff each jalapeno with around 4-5 tsps of stuffing.
  • Take gram flour in another bowl, add sufficient water and whisk to make a smooth batter. Add salt and mix.
  • Heat sufficient oil in a deep pan.
  • Dip the stuffed jalapenos in the batter and slide into hot oil. Deep-fry on low heat till they turn golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
  • Arrange them on a serving platter and serve hot.
