Hariyali Dal Tadka

Hariyali Dal Tadka is a healthy combination of greens and lentils.


    Masoor dal:- 1-1/2 cups
    Methi, spinach and coriander:- 2 cups
    Onion (chopped):- 1
    Cumin seeds:- 1 tsp
    Amchur powder:- 2 tsp
    Tomato (chopped):- 1
    Turmeric powder:- 1/2 tsp
    Chilli powder:- 3/4 tsp
    Ghee:- 3 tbsp
    Salt:- to taste
    Water:- as required

Cook masoor and moong dal together in two cups of water.

In a deep bottomed pan, heat ghee and put cumin seeds and onion. Fry for about two minutes.

Make a paste of six green chilies, 1-inch piece of ginger and 6 garlic cloves.

Put cooked dal, amchur powder, spinach, coriander, turmeric powder, tomato, chili powder, salt, paste and methi to it. Stir well and cook for 3 minutes.

Serve hot.

Serving Suggestions

    Serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
