Apple Tart


    Apples                                  4

    Castor sugar                       1 cup

    Vanilla sponge                   ¼ cup

    For tarts

    Icing sugar                           1 cup

    Butter                                   1 ½  cups

    Refined flour                     2 cups

    Egg                                         1

    Vanilla essence                 few drops

    For almond paste

    Butter                                   ¼ cup

    Castor sugar                       ¼ cup

    Egg                                         1/2

    Almond powder               ½ cup

    Vanilla Cake Sponge  ½ Cup

preparation method

For sweet paste (tarts), mix together butter and icing sugar.

Add egg and then add refined flour. Mix well let it rest for 1 hour in the refrigerator.

For almond paste cream butter and sugar till fluffy and add in half egg, let it cream for 5 minutes. Add in the almond powder and mix well.

Cook apples with castor sugar till they are soft cool and mix with vanilla sponge crumble.

Line the tarts with sweet paste dough and half bake at 180 * C for 15- 20 minutes. When they are baked, put the almond paste at their base, and top with apple and sponge filling.

Cut 3 apples in slices. Cook apples and castor sugar in a pan till light brown and then add in the vanilla sponge to it.

Fill this  apple mixture till the rim of the tart. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180*C for 15-20 minutes. Remove and serve hot or cold.

Cut thick slices of the remaining apple about ½ inch thick and arrange on the top of the tart.

Bake the tart at 180°C for 15-20 minutes


Serving Suggestions

    Cut into equal portions and serve hot.
