Pista Burfi

Pista Burfi is really easy to prepare and with this recipe, you can add more sweetness to any occasion.


    Pista :- 1 cup
    Sugar :- 1 cup
    Water :- 1/2 cup
    Ghee :- 3/4 cup
    Khoya/mawa :- 1/2 cup
    Cardamom powder :- 1/2 tsp
    Green food color :- few drops
    Silver foil (varak) :- for decorations

preparation method

In warm water, blanch pista for about five minutes.

Remove the external skin of pista nuts and roast on medium flame until nuts become crispy.

Switch off the flame and place the nuts in a hot pan for ten minutes. Then powder in a blender until the fine rawa consistency is reached.

Blend water and sugar together in the deep bottomed pan and cook until 1 string consistency is achieved.

Add pista powder and mawa cook until it mixes well.

Add ghee slowly and stir till it leaves the sides of the pan.

Pour this mixture on to the greased plate.

Serving Suggestions

    Decorate with silver foil and cut into desired shapes when it is still warm.
