This sweet and tangy dish is going to live you well satiated!

3 potatoes (peeled and cut into long strips)

    2 crushed garlic cloves

    1 tsp red chilli powder

2 tsps tomato sauce (your regular ketchup will do)

    Salt to taste

    1 ½ tbs cooking oil

For the honey chilli sauce, you need:

    1 tbs tomato sauce

    1 tsp red chilli powder

    2 tsps vinegar

    2 garlic cloves, well crushed

    1 ½ tbs honey

    1 tsp coriander finely chopped

    ½ tbs oil

tools required

heavy bottomed vessel, oven

preparation method

Put the potatoes, oil, red chilli powder, tomato sauce, garlic and salt in a zip lock bag and shake extremely well.

Take a baking tray, grease it well with oil, place the potato fingers and bake it for 30-45 minutes at 200C. You need to turn the potatoes while baking.

You can also choose to deep fry the potatoes but instead of adding oil, use corn flour. Place them on absorbent paper after frying and keep it aside for the oil to slightly dry up.

In the heavy bottomed vessel, add oil and garlic and stir well for a few moments.

Then add the red chilli sauce, vinegar and tomato sauce and stir extremely well.

Now add the potatoes and stir well.

After a few moments, add the honey and combine everything and stir properly.

Turn the heat off and check the salt. If need be, add a little more.

You can garnish the dish with some sesame seeds or some well cute spring onions or some chopped coriander or all three.
