Chicken 65 Skewers


    450 gms boneless chicken, cut into cubes

    8-10 curry leaves

    1 tbsp chopped garlic

    1½ tsps cumin seeds

    1½ tsps mustard seeds

    ½ cup yogurt

    1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

    1 tbsp lemon juice

    1 egg

    ¼ tsp turmeric powder

    1 tsp red chilli powder

    1 tsp castor sugar

    Salt to taste

    Crushed black peppercorns to taste

    ¼ cup refined flour

    1 tbsp oil

preparation method

  1. To prepare marinade, grind together curry leaves, garlic, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and yogurt to make a thick paste. Transfer in a bowl.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, egg, turmeric powder, chilli powder and castor sugar and mix. Add salt, crushed peppercorns and flour and mix well.
  3. Add chicken to the prepared marinade, mix well and set aside.
  4. Heat oil in a non-stick grill pan. Skewer marinated chicken in soaked satay sticks, place them in hot oil and cook till grill marks appear from all sides and chicken is fully done.
  5. Place them on a serving platter lined with a banana leaf and serve hot.
